Montana Destination Imagination (DI) is a non-profit organization dedicated to implementing the DI creative problem solving program in our state.

Global Finals 2011

The five teams representing Montana joined over 8000 students representing 1156 teams from around the globe to celebrate the conclusion of a year full of problem solving, innovation and creativity. The team from Darby also volunteered to be Destination ImagiNation Global Ambassadors to a team from China.  They learned how to communicate with simple sign language, rephrasing ideas, and using maps and pictures.  Both teams saw each other's Team Challenge Presentations and exchanged small gifts from their countries. 

2011 Montana Affiliate Celebration of Creativity

The Montana Affiliate Celebration of Creativity was held on March 26th at Sacajawea Middle School in Bozeman.  Thank you to everyone who helped make this a big success.  A big round of applause to all the appraisers, team managers, and volunteers who worked so hard to make sure the students had a successful experience.  Congratulations to all the teams who solved on of this yeaer's challenges.  Participation in a Destination ImagiNation Tournament is a great culmination for many teams, showing they've overcome challenges and succeeded in displaying their solutions.  Five of the ten first place teams will be competitng at the Global Finals in Knoxville, Tennessee May 25 - 28.

Global Finals 2010

Opening ceremonies was packed, and Montana joined the rest of the Affiliates in honoring 3M with our Duct Tape Hats.  There were over 1000 teams at Global Finals.  The Montana teams competed
against many outstanding teams from all over the world.

Above and Beyond Award

The Montana Affiliate Board of Directors wants to encourage all teams to continue applying what they learn in Destination ImagiNation in their every day lives.  The Board has created the "Above and Beyond Award".  This award honors teams that have taken their Destination ImagiNation challenge to levels much higher than program expectations. Teams use their problem solving skills and Destination ImagiNation experience to make an immediate and positive difference in their school, their community and the world.

2010 Affiliate Tournament Results

The State Celebration of Creativity on March 27th in Three Forks was a big
success.   Thank you to everyone who helped.  A big thank you to all of the

2010 State Tournament

The 2010 State Celebration of Cretivity will be held on March 27,
2010, at Three Forks Public Schools.  Teams will demonstrate robotic technology, deliver construction materials to sites they cannot see, test structures made of newspaper and glue, determine if endangered species should be saved or allowed to die, demonstrate what puppetry, live art, and changes in opinion have in common, give a newscast about a structure made from newspaper and tape, and present their community service projects.  Thirty-seven teams

Global Finals 2009!

There were over 900 teams at Global Finals.  The Montana teams competed against many outstanding teams from all over the world.    The Manhattan Christian Operation Cooperation Team placed 7th. 

2009 Scholarship Winner Announced

The recipient for the Montana Destination ImagiNation state scholarship was announced at the State Tournament Awards Assembly.  This year's winner was Kirsten Aasen from Helena High School.  Kirsten participated in Destination ImagiNation for three years.  During high school she helped at tournaments as a runner, Rising Stars Appraiser, and state tournament photographer.  Kirsten plans to study Special Education and Biology.  Congratulations to Kirsten.
