The Montana Affiliate Board of Directors wants to encourage all teams to continue applying what they learn in Destination ImagiNation in their every day lives.  The Board has created the "Above and Beyond Award".  This award honors teams that have taken their Destination ImagiNation challenge to levels much higher than program expectations. Teams use their problem solving skills and Destination ImagiNation experience to make an immediate and positive difference in their school, their community and the world.

The 2009 team, "The Flood" from Manhattan Christian School was awarded this special award at the 2010 Affiliate Tournament.

This team began work on the Operation Cooperation challenge in the fall of 2008. Their solution was about a group of animals that band together to overcome obstacles and build a new family for an orphaned fruit bat in the African wilderness. Following the tournament competitions, the team created a children’s book from their powerful story. The team worked months to raise funds necessary to publish the book. In January of 2010 the book, Hope, was finally published and sent to Uganda to be distributed to children who have been orphaned due to AIDS.

Congratulations to this team for using their creative problem solving skills to make a difference for others.
